what are secret societies?
A secret society is a covert organization where the members undergo secret initiation rites, share passwords and valuable information, and are sworn to loyalty and secrecy. The members of the group usually all believe in the same thing; they may believe in the same God, or the same scientific theory, and devote their time to that. When someone hears the term secret society, they most often think of a group that has to do with witchcraft, sacrifices, or erratic conspiracies. Some of these societies do devote their time to those things, but most of the time, their goals are things like trying to create powerful and characterized men.
how do their symbols affect us?
We see things like the cross, or the skull and crossbones frequently in our lives. We often think of the skull and crossbones having to do with death, or morbid subjects like that. The Skull and Bones use that as their emblem, and they enforce that opinion. Some of us can recognize the Masons emblems, or the G, for many of our relatives have been members, and even presidents who utilized it, like George Washington. Many symbols, like the swastika, or the pentagram, can be misinterpreted, for different societies with polar beliefs and ambitions used them. The confusion of symbolic meanings can lead to ignorance. Other times, we will use a symbol inappropriately, without knowing their true meaning.
